Develop Model Village is primary component of the WACD. The aim of developing model village is connecting people from all different backgrounds, ages and walks of life. Developing a model village is a comprehensive and holistic approach to rural development. It requires careful planning, community involvement, and a focus on sustainability and independence.

Main objective to develop Model village is to improving the quality of life and economic well being of people, So that it can be recognized as a well-developed, socially, economically, and educationally sound village in the mid-western region of Nepal and throughout Asia. So it acts as an example that other communities can follow. After the Model Village is created, visitors from all around Nepal will also come to observe and conduct research, along with tourists from

other countries.

Model Village Development

The Model Village will be developing through implementing the integrated program as Women and Man empowerment, Economic development and enterprise. Humanitarian development, Climate Justice, Community health, reproductive health and sanitation. Healthy food and nutrition education. Social development trough good governance system.

Here’s a comprehensive guide to conceptualize and implement a model village:


Vision and Goals

  • Sustainability: Ensure the village can sustain itself economically, socially, and environmentally.
  • Self-Reliance: Promote local production and consumption to reduce dependency on external resources.
  • Inclusivity: promote a community that is inclusive of all demographics, ensuring equitable access to resources and opportunities.


Infrastructure Development

  • Basic facilities: Ensure access to clean water, sanitation, electricity, and internet connectivity.
  • Housing: Provide affordable and environmentally friendly housing.
  • Transportation: Develop good road networks and public transportation facilities.


Economic Development

  • Agriculture: Promote sustainable farming practices, organic farming, and diversification of crops.
  • Local Industries: Encourage small-scale industries and cottage industries to boost local employment.
  • Skill Development: Provide training programs to enhance skills and employability of the villagers.


Education and Healthcare

  • Schools: Establish quality educational institutions with modern facilities.
  • Healthcare: Ensure access to primary healthcare facilities, and promote health awareness programs.
  • Vocational Training: Set up vocational training centers to impart skills relevant to local industries.


Environmental Conservation

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Feedback Mechanisms: Implement systems for regular feedback from villagers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use the feedback and evaluation results to make continuous improvements.

Implementation Plan

  1. Survey and Assessment: Conduct a detailed survey to understand the needs, strengths, and weaknesses of the village.
  2. Planning and Design: Create a detailed plan and design with input from experts and the community.
  3. Resource Mobilization: Identify and secure funding and resources from government, NGOs, and private sectors.
  4. Phased Implementation: Implement the plan in phases, starting with the most critical areas.
  5. Capacity Building: Train local leaders and residents to manage and sustain the projects.
  6. Regular Review: Set up a system for regular review and adjustment of the plan based on progress and feedback.

Social Mobilization

WACD has clearly divided the role of the Board of the members and project staffs. 


WACD continue mobilized the board member to monitor the project activities, Most of the members are from community based, so they could frequent monitor and give feedback. Evolution of the project activities is also another way to involving them the Palika leader, ward president, local traditional leader. And During and end of the project, organized the joint program monitoring and evaluation field visit and workshop will also organized by the WACD. The local leader, Palika leader, Women groups, beneficiaries’ feedback and commitment are an example indicator of project evaluation.

Major actions of Social Mobilization

  1. Mobilize local leader and Women group members: The Guruwa, Chaukidar and Barghars is the local and social leader in the Tharu indigenous community. They play the role as a community judge and making decisions to planning, implementing community activities and resolving the problems. The Women group will be formed.
  2. Stakeholder identification and program adjustments as necessary: The first step is to identify all relevant parties who will be affected by or interested in the program. This encompasses both internal (such as program managers, personnel, and executives) and external (such as clients, partners, and regulatory agencies) stakeholders. Determine their responsibilities, impact, and degree of participation in the program. To assure their support and ownership, seek out their advice, thoughts, and knowledge. Include their comments in the creation and execution of the program.
  3. Maintain flexibility and responsiveness to stakeholder feedback and evolving situations: Adjust the program's goals, activities, and deadlines as appropriate, keeping stakeholders updated. Construct a thorough evaluation of the program's results in comparison to the stated objectives. Then, acknowledge and celebrate achievement. Celebrate successes and acknowledge stakeholders' efforts. Share with all stakeholders the program's achievements and key learning’s.
  4. Create a communication strategy: It will be making a systematic communication strategy that can describe that how to interact and keep in touch with stakeholders during the program. Determine the main communication routes, frequencies, and techniques. It will be inform them of the goals, scope, and anticipated results of the program. Ask for their opinions, take note of any issues, and include them in the decision-making process. Encourage communication that is honest and transparent.
